In light of recent sanctions and discussions around censorship, Gnosis has taken the time to refine our path finding as we develop a public blockchain. Gnosis is known for building decentralized infrastructure for the Ethereum ecosystem. Gnosis Safe (multisig and programmable account), Cow Protocol (formerly CowSwap and Gnosis Protocol), Conditional Tokens (prediction markets), Gnosis Auction, and Zodiac (standard and tooling for composable DAOs) are all products incubated by Gnosis. Their success is demonstrated by the spin-out of Cow Protocol and the formation of SafeDAO.
Decentralization has been the guiding principle that threads everything together on the Gnosis timeline. Yet, what does decentralization mean? The formal, dictionary definition of decentralization is, “the transfer of control of an activity or organization to several local offices or authorities rather than one single one.” In the context of building a public blockchain, a truly peer-to-peer network, decentralization must be a basic feature in the architecture of the chain itself.
Gnosis aims to become a resilient and neutral network that anyone can use to build, transact, or communicate, without privilege or prejudice. Post- merge, Gnosis will transition from it’s Proof-of-Authority legacy to PoS by building a community with a culture of running nodes. With over 100K validators securing the Gnosis Beacon Chain, Gnosis is poised to offer a resilient, unstoppable network to the public. We’ve simplified the process of running a validator ~ only 1 GNO is required and the process is user-friendly. Our aim is to have at least one validator in every country around the world.
A community-run chain secured by hundreds of thousands of at-home stakers around the world is a credibly natural, resilient chain because it’s credibly decentralized and resistant to censorship. It’s the eternal chain that’s impossible to turn off.
Jon Charbonneau’s recent article, “Censorship… wat do?” dives into the topic of validators and censorship on Ethereum. He speaks to the critical importance of priotizing decentralization at the core level of protocol development. How to resolve the Blockchain Trilemma is a hotly debated topic that goes far beyond this blog post. Yet, with respect to decentralization, security, and scalability, (the three pillars of the Blockchain Trilemma) Gnosis stands firmly on the shoulders of the former. We’re dedicated to building a credibly neutral and resilient network at the level of core protocol development.
The stakes are high… do we want to recreate the world that we’re living in or build a better one?
Prioritizing censorship resistance is the clearest way to demonstrate the community’s values. Failing to do so would be an incredibly poor signal which risks undermining credibility - why should validators, Flashbots, or any other relays/builders prioritize censorship resistance if core protocol development won’t even do it? - Jon Charbonneau, “Censorship…wat do?”
Gnosis presents at Devcon about building a credibly neutral, stake-at-home network.
SaltPay 😎🤩
At Devcon Gnosis announced SaltPay ~ a credit card that is also a self-custodial wallet. Pay on any visa terminal with funds on Gnosis Chain! Check out the presentation PDF here.
Succinct Labs and the first trustless zkBridge will be Gnosis Chain 🌉
Trustless bridges do not require users to place trust in a centralized or federated group of operators. Developed by Succinct Labs, a zkBridge solves the pressing issues around security for bridges and their users - a critical development for the long-term viability of bridges and blockchains.

GnosisDAO Community Call
Tune into the GnosisDAO Community Call for additional info about the upcoming merge. We’ll also feature updates from across the Gnosis ecosystem with the Safe, Cow, and Zodiac teams joining the call.
October 19th, 2022 @ 3PM UTC / 5PM CET on the GnosisDAO Twitter Spaces account.
In addition to Devcon, Gnosis attended INFRACON in Bogota, Columbia
🙏 Praise Reward System
Praise is live on the Gnosis Chain Discord! Praise is a reward system to incentivize at-home validators. If you’re a validator make sure that you have the ‘Gnosis Chain Validator’ role on the Gnosis Chain Discord. Drop by the #validator channel and ask for the role.
The most recent Gnosis DAOcast featured a discussion about and demo of Praise. Be sure to check it out on our YouTube page.

🏔 of the Week
A few weekly tidbits highlighting regular goings on.
🏘 DAO of the Week: CabinDAO
CabinDAO is creating a network of co-living neighborhoods. They provide people with the option to live on land with like-minded people and the flexibilty to move between neighborhoods. They currently have 3 communities in their network — one in Texas and two in California with plans for more.
They are growing with help from their referral program: refer a neighborhood, resident or podcast guest and you’ll receive the CABIN token, which allows participation in CabinDAO governance.
To get involved, learn more about the CabinDAO Referral Program and follow CabinDAO on Twitter @creatorcabins
🙏 Thank you
